After a not so frugal weekend, I had planned on today and tomorrow being no spend days. All of that got blown apart when DD3 layed her glasses down on a chair and DH sat on them.
D'oh.
Thankfully, we did buy the insurance on them, so replacing them won't be quite as much as paying for it outright. She's also due for her annual eye exam, so I will have to pay the copay for that, too.
I'm thinking about buying a second pair of glasses just to stash away in case this happens again.
So much for my No Spend day

Frames can be ordered to fit existing lens if there ni is no change in prescription. I wonder if you are willing to explore the Zenni, an on-line option with a high rating.

At least it will help you understand the mark-up of traditional retail. Before accepting and paying for glasses, ask the technician doing the fitting to check the lens against the physician's prescription to ensure it's correct. [there have been a number of articles outlining errors/problems as the labs rush through the work]

I'd love to be able to order frames, but how do you know how they fit/look if you are ordering them off the net? My fear is that they would be far too large for DD3's tiny face.

If you know a model number you can also look for the same frames cheaper.
I always have several pairs of glasses, one on my night stand, one in my brief case, one on my emergency grab and go bag. Always a good idea!
